"ASPIRATIONS FOR LIBERTY" -  '56 Hungarian Revolution Memorial Liberty Square Park, Boston, Massachusetts Commissioned by: Hungarian Society of Boston Liberty Square Associates Hamlin, Collier & Co. Bronze and stainless steel inner support structure on round granite base, 19 x 8 x 7 ft.; 568.9 x 243.8 x 213.3 cm         The sculpture commemorates the Hungarian Revolution and the people who fought and died for freedom, against a suppressive communist regime in of October l956.   The subject symbolically expresses the struggle, the suffering, and the determination of these peoples for the aspiration for liberty during a difficult revolution.  The memorial also exhibits a universal message that no matter how difficult the struggle of survival may be, man never surrenders hope for the future.
